Party With Blind Pilot on the KBOO Bike Show
January 3, 2009
The KBOO Bike Show will celebrate the new year with a party live in the KBOO studios aired live on Wednesday, January 7th from 9-10am. The band Blind Pilot, a rock group that tours by bike, will perform live. Cyclists are invited to the station to share their wishes for a bikey new year, and reflections on the amazing year that we just had.
Cyclists have much to be thankful for and proud of from 2008. Some small mom-and-pop bike shops reported a 70% growth last summer. Portland was designated a Platinum-level city by the League of American Cyclists. Bikes became more accessible with a variety of styles for all body types. The city continued to make the streets easier to navigate by bike. There were more events than ever for people to participate in by bike. When the gas prices rose, more people got on bikes. And the list goes on!
Share your own stories of a great year for biking. Call the station during the program at 503-232-8187 or stop by and join the party. KBOO is located at 20 SE 8th in Portland. Tune in to 90.7 FM (live), KBOO.fm (live) or BikeShow.PortlandTransport.com (podcast + archive)

THIS is how to ring in the new year! I'll be listening. Thanks, KBOO Bike SHOW for all the years of great programming. Lately I've been podcasting and catching up on all the years I missed (new to Portland).

Sorry I missed this KBOO show - will listen to the p-cast. Portland most certainly is on the cycling cusp.
Here's more evidence about Veer - a movie going global on PDX's bike culture: http://bikeportland.org/2009/01/30/veer-makes-world-premiere-in-victoria-this-weekend/
