For Wonky Wonks : Great Presentation
November 27, 2007
On Thursday November 29th, 2007 Gordon Price will give a free presentation on the effective integration of transportation in high-density environments, with an emphasis on land use. Price is a former City of Vancouver, B.C. Councilor and current Simon Fraser University and University of British Columbia Professor who teaches, researches, and writes extensively on urban development and planning.
I attended this in the past and it was very interesting.
Thursday, November 29, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Portland Building, 1120 SW 5th Ave, 2nd Floor Auditorium. Free

Oh come on, Wonky Wonks? It seems here in Portland we have a great interest in these issues and that does not make us wonks, it just means that we are actively engaged in the issues of our community, don't you think?

I don't live in Portland, so maybe I don't quite get what Meghan is saying, but you can call me a wonky wonk if you want to. Urban transportation issues and the infrastructure that supports it are fascinating to me. But then again, I ride my bike every single day (since 1968) so I'm a bit... how shall I say... different.
