My family and I like to tour. Our two kids (5 and 8) get excited about bike trips - around town for the day or our camping-biking trips. I hope they don't lose interest as teenagers!

Our first trip with the kids was a royal disaster. Each trip has gotten better and better - there have been 8 more since that first one. We are just better prepared these days. We know what the kids like along the way (SNACKS!!) and we go for it. I liked the Metal Cowboy's idea of having the kids wor k on a project along the way, taking pictures, documenting something. We started that with our kids on the last trip since they were both in the trailer or trail-along. We got a lot of pictures taken of our rears, but some great pictures too!

We call ourselves the Rolling Rollins Family because we love to bike together. Our biggest ride was a week-long trip along the Oregon coast. We took it really slowly and our kids are teenagers, so they are strong, mature riders.
Even with our typical teenagers, we always have a great time. My kids know they're strong, capable riders, and they're proud to return home and tell their friends all about the trips.
