The Portland Century - it's About Time!

August 23, 2006

On Monday, 36 people registered for the first-ever Portland Century. The registrations just keep rolling in . The downtown Bike Gallery called us to tell us their registration book is overflowing with completed registration forms and we need to come unload some of them. So how many people will show up on Sunday? I don't know, but we're placing bets and hoping for 750!

Hi Greg,

Full elevation maps will be available at the start line, but I can tell you that there is 30 miles of climbing up and down, including a stretch of 800 feet elevation gain over the course of 3 miles.

This is the Torture 10,000 route, part of it anyway. Wow. Brutal. Can you hammer up it? Hopefully it won't be a scortcher that day.
