What's on Your Cyclist Wish List?

November 29, 2005

What do you dream of finding wrapped in a bow and tucked beneath the Christmas tree this year? I'm still waiting for that Vanilla, but in the meantime I'd be happy with a new helmet. It's high time I get something lighter, sleeker and, well, NEWer.

My family just picked wish lists from the family hat - Secret Santa style. Reviewing my list today I realized how bikey it is. What's on your list?

I've totally got a biker's wish list! I want some smart wool socks, new shoes, bar tape and a sweet-ass lighting system. my family and friends think i'm crazy. if I get one more framed old highwheeler print, i'll scream. i don't have any more wall space!

I'd like to get some new riding shoes that don't get wet, that stay warm, and don't look like riding shoes.

I'd also like a sleek, fast, reliable new city bike!

For real, Jonathan! I've been saying that for a while now. Is it too much to ask for bike shoes that don't look like bike shoes and will keep me dry in the winter? I've come close with a new pair of black Specialized shoes I found at Bike Gallery, but they're not too water proof and they're only kind of cool.

If you're racing it's one thing, but there are tons of us who are just getting from one meeting to the next and would prefer to not be wearing racing gear while in meetings...

I think there's totally a market for water proof, hip cycling gear that doesn't cost a fortune.

I want a full overhaul gift cert. My bike is SO in need of a little TLC!

hmmm...i can think of a handful of things that princess and i need but top of the list is a new headset, new stem and new bars. *princess* (my bike) needs a sleeker profile. also top of the list is a re-load backpack style bag with some custom stictching on it. i'll settle for a chrome though. :)

as far as cycling gear that doesn't look like cycling gear...i hear you there. i'm still working on the perfect pattern for some slick, black, waterproof pants. if i ever get it down i'll let you know. (check out rose city textiles in NW for some awesome outdoor fabric)

Oh, yes, a custom-stitched Re-Load, wouldn't that be nice? Those are so cool.

I want some of those killer pedals for cyclocross, the eggbeater circular ones that don't muck up. They're just the perfect size for dropping in my stocking, mom.
